My recent stay at U.I.J Hotel & Hostel was a true delight. The cleanliness throughout the hotel immediately caught my attention, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. One standout feature was the use of Aesop toiletries—body wash, shampoo, and conditioner—adding a touch of luxury to my stay. The subtle scents lingered, enhancing the overall experience. The friendly and attentive staff contributed to the positive atmosphere. Every interaction, from check-in to check-out, was met with genuine smiles and a willingness to assist. In summary, if you're looking for a clean, inviting, and upscale stay with friendly staff, this hotel is the perfect choice. Highly recommended for a memorable and enjoyable experience.

I really loved the vibe at this hotel - from the amazing scent when you walk in, to the album covers behind the front desk and the cool cafe in the reception. When I got to my room, i was blown away. Very spacious, great view over the Art museum, a huge bed, Japanese toilets, fabulous shower, and Aesop amenities! In fact, it was hard to leave! the breakfast was great - i like the way they do it by ordering alacarte rather than a buffet as it feels like there is less food waste and the food is fresher and more hygienic. I wish I had selected the room with the record players but then I might not have gone out to enjoy Tainan's nightlife and stayed in enjoying my room all night!

After 3 months of traveling, UIJ is one of my favorite places I've stayed. The facilities were absolutely stunning, especially all of the well designed common spaces. I was visiting friends in Tainan and it was so wonderful to be able to grab food and dine together at one of the large tables or out on the deck. I stayed in both the dorm rooms and in a private room for one night and both were excellent. The dorm beds were spacious and each came with a large school-room style locker for valuables. Throughout the hotel, there were so many wonderful little touches like having soda water on tap and board games for communal use. Highly highly recommend a stay here!

Stayed in a 12-bed hostel room and it's the biggest hostel room I've been to, with sufficient floor space to move around and open our luggages. The shower cubicles though few, were thoughtfully designed with dry and wet area separations. There is also a vanity table with chairs, hairdryer and hair serum. The lounge and patio was very cosy and a good place for hotel and hostel guests to hang out at, even till late at night. UIJ also provides walking tours for their guests and outsiders (at a slightly higher price). A short walk through the alley will bring you a a street of food and BBT options. Perfect place to stay especially for first-timers to Tainan!

Great place. Really good internal design which is fun. Attention to the little things like really good soap and shampoo. We had a private room but the shared space is awesome. Super comfy and pretty, nice balcony. It's really well stocked with good filter coffee, tea and cookware. You can easily cook full meals there if you want, or bring food from the outside to eat. The staff keep the area very clean too. The location is fine. Cool small market nearby, close to the art museum. Some popular spots are 15-20 minutes walk. Note that public transport in Tainan is terrible (everywhere) but cabs are relatively cheap.
